ACORD Announces New Additions to 2002

New ACORD Awards will be given out at the ACORD Annual Conference this May 19-21 in Orlando, Fla.

These awards will recognize companies who have either implemented ACORD standards for a particular business process to improve automation, redesigned a business process by using ACORD standards as part of that implementation, or have implemented ACORD standards with the widest number of trading partners, according to Tana Sabatino, assistant vice president, ACORD.

This year’s awards program will also recognize early implementers of the P&C Reinsurance/Large Commercial XML 2.0 standards, and implementers of the ACORD/NAILBA and ACORD/NAVA standards.

“Being recognized as a market leader in adopting standards is critical for competing in today’s marketplace,” said Gregory Maciag, CEO and president, ACORD. “This awards program gives companies and solution providers the opportunity to gain that recognition directly from ACORD.”

The new Overall Awards, which will recognize implementation of ACORD XML for Life, ACORD XML for P&C and Reinsurance/ Large Commercial EDI and/or XML are: · Business Automation Improvement Implementation Award · Business Process Redesign Implementation Award · Trading Partner Implementation Award · Dollar Volume Implementers Award · Certification Honoree Award

New to ACORD’s Business Line Awards is the ACORD/NAVA Implementer Award. The returning Business Line Awards are the ACORD AL3 Upload and Download Awards, which recognize the leaders in the implementation of ACORD AL3 Standards, and the ACORD/NAILBA Implementer Award, last presented in 2000.

To be awarded this recognition, companies must submit their transactions and be certified by ACORD as being compliant, by April 1, 2002. The certification program will utilize the same general criteria across all lines of business ensuring each group’s efforts are appropriately recognized.
