CNA to Pay $18M for Wrongful Death

According to Associated Press, CNA Insurance has awarded the family of Ana Flores $18 million for the wrongful death of the 36-year-old mother of two.

Flores was killed in 1999 by a shard of glass that fell from the 29th floor of the company’s headquarters in Chicago as she walked with her three-year-old daughter. CNA admitted that the window had been cracked for the past four months.

Additionally, CNA will pay the city a $250,000 fine and replace 3,000 windows that may have been subject to cracking due to differences in temperature.
