The AMS Users’ Group, an Irving, Texas-based organization representing more than 9,000 agents using AMS Services Inc.’s automated agency management systems, began its four-day 26th National Conference in Dallas, for which more than 2,600 independent agents have registered.

The conference features more than 70 exhibits, as well as educational courses for AMS automation products, including AMS Sagitta for major national and international brokers, AfW for medium and large-sized brokers and agencies, and AMS Prime 2000 for smaller agents and brokers.

AMS Users’ Group president Dirk Boudreaux said, “Now, more than ever, independent agents recognize how automation can increase their level of customer service and streamline their operations… AMS continues to deliver enhancements that drive our business – and our group continues to provide valuable input into product development through our design review committees.

“As a result,” Boudreaux continued, “every conference showcases more agency management options, including ASP solutions, more integrated and interfaced complimentary products, and more technology to drive our industry.”

The opening day saw the announcement of Pam Parry’s appointment to president of AMS Users’ Group, which she will officially assume at the group’s awards ceremony Saturday, March 23. Parry currently serves as executive vice president at Golseth & Gregson Insurance Services of Tucson, Ariz.

Affiliated with the AMS User’s Group for more than 10 years, Parry stated, “One of my goals is to have The AMS Users’ Group known throughout the industry as the ‘go to’ organization for delivery of top-notch education to its members… Additionally, I plan to strengthen our participation in other industry automation organizations to accelerate the fight for common goals between carriers, vendors, and users.”

Three new members of the group’s board of directors were also named: Kay Barrett, vice president of operations at Wichita, Kan.-based IMA Financial Group, Charles Lowe, vice president of Duxbury & Ray Insurance Agency, and Carl Schlotma III, principal for the CAI Insurance Agency Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio.
