Travelers Receives First ‘Pinnacle Award’ from ASCnet; Auto-Owners, Ohio Casualty, CGU Also Honored

Travelers Property-Casualty Insurance received the inaugural Pinnacle Award, for outstanding leadership in advancing the independent insurance agent’s quest for efficient workflow, from the Applied Systems Client Network (ASCnet), the user group of Applied Systems agency management technology.

The award was presented at ASCnet’s 17th Annual Education Conference in Las Vegas to David Findley, Travelers’ Senior Vice President, Commercial and Personal Lines Operations; and Bruce Fiore, Second Vice President, Commercial Lines.

ASCnet President Peter Anderson credited Findley and Fiore with “helping Applied Systems users as well as the independent agent system as a whole achieve new heights” by being the first to implement real-time interface with IVANS Transformation StationTM, which leverages ACORD XML and the public Internet to reduce the time and expense for both the agency and the company in processing single-key-entry sales and service transactions.

“Several carriers have demonstrated welcome leadership in implementing SEMCI (single entry, multiple-company interface),” Anderson said. “But none have been as consistent, as committed, or as vociferous in its leadership as Travelers. They led the way with resources and a commitment that now is paying dividends to our entire distribution channel as Transformation Station takes hold.”

Travelers has worked with Applied Systems, ASCnet and IVANS since the early development of Transformation Station, Anderson said. “Dave Findley in particular has been the leader of the pack,” he said. “Dave almost singularly helped deliver SEMCI to our distribution channel by introducing Transformation Station to other agency management systems – the result today is that we collectively can impact approximately 80 percent of the agency system desktops in the country.”

ASCnet’s Interface Committee presented awards to Auto-Owners, for Upload Carrier of the Year; Ohio Casualty, for Download Carrier of the Year; and CGU, for Canadian Download Partner of the Year.

Anderson awarded Presidential Citations to five individuals:
