Risk and Insurance Information Released to Businesses

May 27, 2003

The U.S. government raised its terror alert status to the second-highest level last week due to the renewed risk of attack in the United States. As a result, the warnings have raised the concerns of business owners and risk managers interested in doing what they can to protect employees and resources.

ABD Insurance and Financial Services (www.cybersure.com), a provider of global risk management and employee benefits solutions, and Syntrio, Inc., a provider of complete online training solutions, have joined forces as a public service to provide suggestions about how to manage exposure, an online interactive tool to evaluate a company’s level of risk and preparedness, and an online training tool used to ensure command, control, and coordination of an emergency response.

Syntrio is offering free online access for the next few weeks to its Incident Command System courseware. The ICS course enables members of an Emergency Response Team to quickly and consistently organize emergency responders and resources to minimize chaos and confusion. The ICS also improves the efficiency, effectiveness and timeliness of mitigating an emergency incident.

ABD Insurance and Financial Services has assembled an interactive questionnaire that allows risk managers to evaluate their state of preparedness and awareness. Additional resources include Tips on Terrorism Insurance Protection, an Emergency Management Guide, and Preventative Measures for Terrorist Attacks. This information, along with the Syntrio Incident Command System courseware, can be accessed at www.cybersure.com.

ABD Insurance and Financial Services and Syntrio(TM) launched CyberSure University, the industry’s first web-based risk management training solution. Designed to help ABD clients proactively educate employees on risk management issues, CyberSure University provides access to Syntrio’s learning management systems and risk management library including health & safety and employment law compliance courses.
