NAII Elects Pair of Board Members

Anthony “Tony” Warren of West Bend Mutual Insurance Company and Robert Williams, Jr. of Progressive Insurance Group were recently elected to the National Association of Independent Insurers’ (NAII) Board of Governors.

Warren, president and CEO of West Bend Mutual Insurance Company began his career with Continental Insurance Company and served there in many capacities.

Upon the sale of Continental to CNA, Warren left to become president of Illinois National Insurance Company, a subsidiary of AIG. He later served as chief operating officer of Willis Corroon in Chicago. He was appointed president of West Bend Mutual in February 2000 and was named CEO in January 2002.

Williams, agency group president for the Progressive group of companies, joined the company in 1980 as an actuarial analyst.

He served in a variety of managerial positions including motorcycle product manager; Canada and Northeastern U.S. general manager; special lines manager; and Northwestern U.S. and New York division manager. Prior to assuming his current role as agency group president in April 2000, Williams served on the senior management team as product process leader.

In addition to managing the company’s $6 billion agent business, Progressive Special Lines and Commercial Auto Groups report to Williams.
