ACORD Details 2004 Awards Program

The ACORD Awards will be given out at the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum, May 23-25, 2004 in Las Vegas, and the Awards will reportedly focus on outstanding achievements for implementations that highlight business value, business opportunities, and trading partners.

Implementations are defined as: trading partner to trading partner; solution provider to customer; or internal system to internal system. Awards cover accomplishments from June 2003 through April 2004. Past winners represent the industry’s leaders and innovators.

New this year are; the Early Forms Adopter Awards, which are divided into the P/C Early Adopter Forms Award, the Life & Annuity Early Adopter Forms Award and the Shared Service/Infrastructure Platform Provider Award, which is presented to any organization that provides shared services or an infrastructure platform that enhances the utilization or eases the implementation of ACORD standards.

The Outsourcer Award will once again be presented to an organization that provides outsourcing services and utilizes ACORD standards for those services.

To be considered for a 2004 ACORD Award, companies must submit an official ACORD Awards application by April 1, 2004. For more information on the 2004 ACORD Awards and the specific criteria being used, visit www.acordlomaforum.org.

This Year’s Awards Categories are:

· Achievement Awards- One company from each standards program (Life & Annuities, Property/Casualty, and Reinsurance) will be recognized for achievements and leadership in XML implementations of ACORD standards that have had significant impact on their business during the specified period. Recipients must be full members of ACORD.

· Accomplishment Awards- This award recognizes one company from each standards program (Life & Annuities, Property/Casualty, and Reinsurance) for accomplishments in XML implementations and for providing leadership in business processing utilizing ACORD XML.

· EDI Awards- Recognizes companies for their accomplishments using the current EDI standards defined for P/C and Reinsurance. The EDI Awards recognize companies for their accomplishments using the current EDI standards defined for P/C and Reinsurance. All organizations must be ACORD members and be ACORD certified for Standards Uploads or Downloads, depending on the category. Awards are based solely on statistics.

· Certification Awards- Acknowledges companies that have completed the necessary certification process with ACORD regardless of current implementation status. Recipients must be certified in the specified standards versions.
