IIABA Names Two PR Staffers

January 14, 2004

The Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA) announced it has hired two new staffers in its public relations office.

Jemarion Jones is IIABA’s new manager of media relations. She replaces Kevin Callahan who left IIABA last month for a press secretary position with a member of Congress. Jemarion brings considerable educational background and work experience to the IIABA. She previously worked at Sallie Mae and the National Cancer Institute.

Cliston Brown is the new manager of public affairs for IIABA. He assumes a newly created position. Before joining the IIABA Cliston was the press secretary for a member of Congress from Indiana. Prior to that he was a reporter for Corporate Legal Times in Chicago and two Indiana newspapers.

Jones will handle requests for information about IIABA’s many programs, like InVEST, Best Practices, Trusted Choice and any other non-legislative and regulatory issue.

Brown, who is primarily headquartered in the group’s Capitol Hill office, will respond to requests for information about IIABA’s positions on federal and state legislative and regulatory issues, including modernization of insurance regulation, tort reform, the NAIC and many more.

Jones can be reached at (703) 706-5445 or jemarion.jones@iiaba.net.

Brown can be reached at either (202) 863-7000 or (703) 706-5407, or via e-mail at cliston.brown@iiaba.net.
