Yes by all means, let the consumer contact the insurance departments in their respective states. But better yet why not deal with licensed agents and people you know and trust.

Several years ago, I attempted to bring some heat on a illegal insurance scam. But the State of Iowa accepted the filing for proof of insurance from this bogus company. That entity used another company similiar in name but a bogus company to make a state filing. The client thought everything was okay because he received his authorization for spraying from the state. So even the States need to let different departments no of this problem.

By the way, the client thought I was a bad guy when I pointed out to him that if he ever had a claim there was “no insurance company” to pay the loss. My premium was legitimate but higher. I even suggested that he could help me out and other people in the insurance business by filing a complaint with the State of Iowa…he opted to pay the premium to a non-existent company.
