    Like or Dislike:
    Thumb up 0
    Thumb down 0

I am a little apprehensive of Congressman Oxleys’ proposal. For years, injured federal workers have repeatedly asked their Congressional representatives to protect them from the unlawful violations of their rights as defined by the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act. The federal Office of Workers Compensation Programs, a branch of the Department of Labor, is frequently accused of blatant violations of the rights of injured federal employees.

The federal OWCP is the insurer of federal employees. They insure four million federal workers in case they are injured doing their jobs. They provide the same service as private insurers do for private businesses and their workers.

There are so many complaints being made to Congressional representatives that many have “specialists” assigned to receive the accusations against the federal OWCP.

Congressman Oxley has received many complaints from his constituents. He has seen the results of Congressional investigations of the Labor Department and the results of inquires made by Senator Hill (Now retired).

After years of complaints, Congressman Oxley has done little to defend the lawful rights of injured federal workers. The insurance provider of four million federal workers is accused of deliberately causing terrible loss and suffering. But, Congressman Oxley appears to be indifferent.

If he won’t protect the lawful rights of the people who work for his government, can we really believe that he will act in the best interest of the privately insured?
