November 6, 2004

The second edition of “A Practical Guide to Purchasing Groups” has recently been released by Insurance Communications. The newly revised and expanded edition, written by Karen Cutts, managing editor of the Risk Retention Reporter, provides an in-depth look at the PG transaction from the perspectives of the insured, the insurer, and the agent/broker.

First published in 1995, “A Practical Guide to Purchasing Groups” is a comprehensive reference source on the formation, operation, and regulation of PGs formed under the Liability Risk Retention Act.

The new 300+ page edition has been revised and expanded to reflect legal, regulatory and business developments over the last nine years, as well as to accommodate the growth in the numbers of PGs and insurers. Among the new features in the second edition are 28 articles from the Risk Retention Reporter written by industry professionals relating their practical experience in the PG marketplace.

In addition, the book provides users with immediate access to vital resources relating to PG legal requirements, including the full text of the Liability Risk Retention Act, proposed amendments to the LRRA, and citations to State Risk Retention Acts. Both print and CD-ROM versions provide extensive indexing.

“A Practical Guide to Purchasing Groups, Second Edition, Revised and Expanded” is available in both print and CD-ROM. Cost of the publication is: $595 (print); $795 (CD-ROM); $990 (Print + CD-ROM). For more information visit www.rrr.com/order.
