By how have things changed! Metlife buys the “Buy-term-invest-the-difference” policies that were funded by raiding their own agents’ whole life contracts. Now, they have an agreement to sell Metlife Products through the same kitchen table hacks that put the run on the bank back in the ’80’s. It just goes to show that in corprate America, it’s what you want and not what happened. Sandy gets rid of the drag on his bonus; Metlife gets a penile extension on their assets to pace them out farther than the Pru – “Life” is good.

Traveler’s is NOT the “Buy-term-invest-the-difference” company. Traveler’s provided variable annuities. Only goes to show that if you cannot beat them – insult them. Insults are more fun anyway – RIGHT?

My,how things have changed. I remember a video showing Snoopy being run over by
a car driven by one of A.L. Williams
    higher up’s.
But hey, it’s always been about the “money”
and the few who stand to make the most.
I’m sure all involved will put a great spin
on the situation and it will be business as usual for those who stand to profit the
most. Met life? Primerica? The Big Guys?
The Little Guys Primerica Agents? Ha! Ha!

Hey- ALWilliams WAS fun in the 80’s. Replacing crappy whole life with mutual funds and term; my parents followed that for the twenty years I’ve been in the business and they are WEALTHY!!! People who followed the plan are SO much better off…but, the fun changed when Art sold the company to Sandy, et al, and my recommendation to Primerica Reps is to go with an Independent Broker Dealer so they can ALWAYS do what’s right and bring the biggest value to the client. That’s really what it’s all about! Sandy?? Nah, it was Art Williams’ company that CHANGED MY WHOLE LIFE (literally!) Good luck to you all and may you always do what’s right! dw

Thats a bunch of bull when Art started ths business he had a nich market, today PFS is one of the highest priced insurance in the market. Since the leaving of Art they have never been able to retain the agents that ALWilliams had. Even Travlers Ins Kicks its butt& there selling Travlers off. You should read between the lines.

Well, about 18 yrs ago thru about 13 yrs ago, Primerica’s term was the least expensive out there…so I felt good about selling it. But, I left Primerica when Art left and I don’t believe that Primerica ever adjusted their term thru the years to be competitive. Yeah, like I said, the best thing for Primerica reps now to do is to go with an independent Broker/Dealer and be able to do the best thing for clients EVERY time. If I was a Primerica rep now, i would take the blinders off and look for a much better deal! Good luck, all, david womack

I feel just like you back in 83 / 84 there was a crusade to do what was right today all they think about is high fee driven mortages & what pads their pockets. even in the words of Hector(were not in the term bussiness, were in the FNA business. or as I call it the smoke screen to seel high priced products

I personally hope Met purchases all of Primericas business so they can do a good deed and replace all of that crudy hi cost crusader insurance with solid term or permanent insurance. The fact is both term and permanent are good. It depends on what the clients situation and needs are. Anyone that disagrees would have to be down right ignorant.

I’ve always wondered how a Primerica agent or AL WIlliams rep could feel good about preaching buy THEIR term and invest the difference when they would be much better off buying term from any other company at about half the cost so they would have more $ to invest. Sincerely, you worked for Primerica fo over 20 years why are their costs so HIGH? Is it because they not only have to pay the agent, but his upline as well? This is not meant to be a “wise acre” question, I’m sincerely interested in your opinion.

After 20 that is why I left their insurance
cost was so out of line. It wasn’t that
way during Art Williams tenure, we were
always among the least expensive out there.
Only when became Primerica under SANDY WILD
MAN & name of Primerica & refusal to
compete rate wise like others did it start to smell…….All About the money &
    shareholders dividens.

Yeah, Hoss, Primerica became the companies we hated. The ones whose agents blindly followed “the company line” without regard to learning what was actually the best thing for the client.
