Saltzman left because he was mad about not being named chairman after Bradley left. His ego is too big to make tons of money, but not be completely in charge.

This is the best thing that has happened to Penn America Group in a long time. There needs to be a restructure of the higher management as soon as possible, let’s hope that this is just the beginning.

Just should have voted him off the island sooner.

Maybe now Curry will follow Saltzman’s example.

Since coming on board, Curry has helped Penn America basically triple in size. I’m sure that is something the new owners will appreciate. He is also one of the most knowledable people I have met in this industry (23 years and counting). Sounds like some sour grapes in these comments.

That’s a fine opinion, I don’t know exactly where your opinion is coming from because I am one of the many people that had the pleasure of being screwed by the both of them in extremely unethical “BUSINESS” practices. There is no need to go into detail here, but I for one, am glad that at least one sour grape will be leaving Penn-America’s orginization.

Penn America was already becoming stronger before Curry showed up, he was just riding the wave. There have been no significant changes since he came aboard. Knowledgeable maybe, however it’s how one uses one power that determines ones value. No sour grapes here, only a huge sigh of relief that the bottom that Curry is smooching is leaving.

Its interesting how Jon sticks around long enough to finish the merger, but not long enough to make sure it truly succeeds.

Was the merger about improving business, or personal financial gains?

Or is Jon fearing that skeletons in a closet found by an auditing committee?

In any case don’t let the door hit you in the hini on the way out.

I have dealt with Jon on more than a semi-regular basis. I applaud his tenure at Penn-Amercia, and wish him the best in the future. While I cannot speak for the few who felt they were ‘done wrong’ by the staff at Penn-America, I can testify that I have seen Jon be nothing but the classiest individual.

Sometimes people do things that are beyond the understading of others; however the others try to bend it to fit their idea of what is happening. This is one of those times.

Let’s let Jon have a happy retirement and move along to the next thread.

    Cheers

United… you don’t know what you did, too bad you weren’t around a little sooner to save many from the RATH of those two.

    You people are unbelievable.

I’d like to know how many of you know Jon personally or have spoken to him about his decision. Just a lot of baseless conjecture here. Let the man retire in peace.

Last I checked, this was the Insurance Journal, and not Us Weekly.

When was the last time you saw “pursue other business interests” to be just that. And to announce it so soon after the merger has completed.

No I haven’t spoken with Jon directly regarding his decision and personally I’d like to know more about the decision itself. My companies last conversation with Mr. Saltzman was not a plesant one resulting in a unprofessional attitude on Mr. Saltzmans behalf.

Yes some of these comments may be “baseless” but for those that have dealt with Mr. Saltzman on even a semi regular basis it now becomes their turn to have a temper tantrum.

Conjecture, yes it is regarding his speedy exodus. However I do agree with Donald, this is just too speedy to be a coincidence. The intense type of comments here have to make you stop to wonder just how many people Jon did with out dinner and drinks first? And while I must say I am not familiar with the US Weekly (must be one of those check out rags I don’t really pay attention to) the Insurance Journal has kindly provided this are AKA Talkback as well as their opinion forum. Bottom line everyone has them and I appreciate the opportunity to voice mine.
