Perhaps, with the sale of Citigroup’s Traveler’s to Metlife, the $11.8 billion just may help with the needed funding for Traveler’s Statutory Direct Action Settlement Fund. The fund Administrator could begin processing claims and, in due course, begin paying Qualifying Claimants.
Next month we can all celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the status conference (August 17, 2004), when the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York entered the order approving the Traveler Settlement and the Clarifying Order required by the settlement. Additionally, the Court overruled any objections to the settlements that were not already withdrawn. Let’s begin your new venture and latest acquisition with a clean slate. What do you say?
    Any thoughts?

Years ago my husband rec’d $6.ooo for a claim against john Manville. He worked 36 yrs in the steel industry and many of those Years he had to use asbestos pads.He has since passed away. I do remember the letter stated the original award was $60,ooo but due to the bankrupcy they could only send $6000.They also said if more money became available he would recieve more. It would sure be helpful if they sent the rest of his award. What Happened?

What is the holdup of the Circuit courts decision of the settlement?Haven’t they had months to reach a decision? Perhaps it is just the plantiffs getting a bum deal.
