    I agree comp man. I expected the market to harden in 2 years time with every carrier it seems slashing rates here and there, especially in personal lines. These 2 hurricanes (Katrina and Rita) are especially going to hurt direct writers. I expect we will stop seeing Allstate ads on TV in the near future…

    If you ask Allstate and State Farm directly, they will admit to being home insurers. They really would rather sell auto policies only. (Except in select few inland non-hurricane, non-tornado prone states.)
