If a gun misfires or malfunctions and injures you, you have a cause of action. If you sue a gun mfr. for ANY OTHER reason, you are taking time and money away from those who have a legitimate beef. People kill people, not guns. Does anyone sue knife manufacturers? Just curious. Well gotta go…need to buy some Smith and Wesson stock.

Thank you! This is the point I’ve been making for years. When was the last lawsuit you saw against Ford and/or Jack Daniels when some idiot got drunk and rammed his truck into the passing bus full of nuns?

It’s about time a law actually served to put some measure of personal responsibility back into our society. If you’re wronged by an individual, go ahead and sue them. They’re the ones that did the crime. Since when did Winchester force somebody to buy their product and then deliberately misuse it?

And for you gun control advocates…try reading the Bill of Rights!!!

Reading the Bill of Rights won’t convince the gun control advocates, because they misinterpret what they read. Their responses are typically emotional, not rational.

Hopefully this will cut off another cash cow the lawyers abusing their professional standards have developed to fund their lifestyles.
    CONTINUE THE REFORM !!!!!

Create an amendment banning all handguns. Then stop the war on Iraq, spend the $50 billion in savings on gun buy back programs and take back the streets! Legalize drugs and spend the profits on helping addicts. Increase drug testing in schools and the work place – Even tho drugs are legal you can still ban them at work and school.

Most people who own concealed handguns are up to no good. The original idea behind the constitutional amendment was to allow people a means to fight back against the govt. That was long ago and no longer applies. The govt, is more corrupt and powerful then any in the history of civilization and its citizens are no longer capable of fighting back either intellectually or with guns. Guns are outdatedand dangerous.

You cant run from a gun like you can a knife or any other weapon, plus gun wounds are more deadly than knife wounds. FACT…

Please… this is a sad excuse for an argument. I agree with the drugs and all that but handguns? Frankly in today\’s world people need to learn some responsibility, and keeping people away from what they need the responsibility for doesn\’t promote it. All it promotes is ignorance, and that is why this bill is needed. To keep ignorant people from destroying the country with useless lawsuits and idotic claims gumming up the US economy. Now, if people will learn to be responsible for their actions instead of crying to the courts to make the bad feelings go away, then this bill woudn\’t be needed. If people would be responsible gun owners and if non-gun owners would suck it up and quit with the get-rich-quick schemes and if lawyers will take thier jobs down a few notches then we wouldn\’t have so many laws and bills to debate over and create such a disruption that it causes us to overlook the important things going on. The war in Iraq, while it wasn\’t the most intelligent desicion, it\’s too late now. We\’re done and we need to get out. Legalizing drugs, if drugs were legal then there would be less crime as long as there was a cap on the use as with alcohol and tobacco. Handguns need to be legal and so do concealed weapons. Otherwise, how could you effectively defend yourself from someone who didn\’t obey the law? Also, there is such thing as handgun hunting and sports. There\’s even big-game hunting and national target practice using handguns. So you\’re right… to a point… You just need to realize what you\’re screwing with here.
