This is a debate/conversation that is long overdue. NAIC may not be the right plan, but with discussion and debate and working with the talent in our industry, I believe that we can find a solution that will be good for the insurance industry and beneficial to the public — as long as the public is willing to pay for the comprehensive coverage.

I agree hopeful. A start is what it is. It will have to metamorphisize itself many times before it may come to fruition. I do believe the hardest part will be getting the public to pay for it. Most people all want the best coverage available, but many are not willing to pay for it. I just had a potential client today who imports nails for nail guns wanting a GL quote. Well, he has been bugging me for 2 weeks to get the quote and I finally got the quote back from the SL broker. So, here\’s a guy importing 1.2 mil in sales and the premium came in at $7500. He said, \”but, but, I know a friend of mine who has a beauty salon and only pays $500 a year\”., I said you are not a beauty salon and asked what he thought the premium should be. He said about $500 to $700 dollars. He kept saying there is no risk involved. So finally, I told him that I did not have time to deal with him and since there was no risk, why bother getting insurance. I told him my quote was firm and he had two choices, buy it or go somewhere else. He was just a complete waste of time.
