It is not suprising to see how the right wingers tried to turn the TRIA extension into a \”blue\” state issue. They have no problem creating the most expensive government programs in history, yet balk about this important legislation. Spending is at all time high. When you hear the conservatives talk, you think they are anti-government, or smaller government, yet, they have spent more money, created more programs, and want the government to have unchecked powers to spy on us americans. Really anti-american if you ask me, and is truly about a quest for power. We went to war to end occupation from a monarch society, and it is about time we do it again.

Look clown, right wingers aren\’t for large gov\’t. I don\’t care for W\’s spending either but had it been a liberal president in office spending all this $ you wouldn\’t be saying word one. Also your anti-american comment is outrageous, if we left it up to the liberals we would have a socialist gov\’t run by someone like Chavez or Castro, so who is really the anit-american…and I love the suggestion that there should be a civil war or Cous de etat..what is wrong with you…why dont you go to a war protest or something…ever since the 1960\’s you statists have ruined this country

The article was the one making a point that it was the party in charge that was making this a \”blue\”/\”red\” issue. Liberals have spent far too much money in history as well. That is why it is vastly important to not have a president seek unlimited powers and have a congress with balls to stand up to him. Checks and balances is one of the issues that was central to the founding of our government. Don\’t turn it into a personal attack against this \”clown\”. All I know that is we have lost a lot of privacy. The government should not be in the business of regulating morality (gay marriage is one examples of making discrimination legal, which is anti-american.) Don\’t muddy up the issue, that fact remains is that the important legislation that is important to our business was held up by self serving pawns of a monarch.

Excellent points, clown. Goat doesn\’t seem to be perceptive of the issues of reality.

Both liberals and conservatives have spent lots of money on many things that are unnecessary now. However, a lot of the \”government programs\” referred to were created because the private sector wasn\’t willing or able to pick up the slack at the time. And once they are in place, it is very difficult to retract them.

But, on to the main point, it seems that the conservatives inability to grasp the nature of the insurance industry and what the Act actually entailed is what caused the delay. Either the insurance industry didn\’t explain it to them well enough, or they were too hard-headed or lacked concern to pay attention to what the industry was telling them. I feel inclined to believe its the latter. They\’ve been far too distracted with the political fallouts occurring over the past few months to actually do their jobs. And that\’s a sad situation.

I lean to the left, because I feel the federal government should be there, as a last resort, to support its citizens and its industries. Not in all cases, but in those that truly affect the common people. TRIA is one of those cases, where at least for the short term, it is necessary for the government to be there, because any multiple WTC-like attacks could bankrupt the entire insurance industry.

Well Clown you must have realized that I didn\’t bring abortion, gay marriage, or any other morals issues to the table as they do not concern me what you do in your own house is your business, I couldn\’t care less. And Realist how can you have such socialist opinions when capitalism supports you with a salray, commission, bonuses, etc. Why should I have to be responsible for Joe Shmo who didn\’t make the right choices in life, when I have? I am the govt and I shouldn\’t be obligated pay anyone elses way in life. And my last rant is this…95% of issues in the country or any country can be turned into a political issue on account of everyones political views are directly relevant to thier philosophy on everything else.

Thanks and have a nice day

I, myself are mostly a centrist. I would have voted for John McCain, had the Bush and the Neo\’s not knocked him out of the primaries in 2000 by calling people in S.C. and saying he fathered a baby out of wedlock. Just goes to show the lengths to which the extremes go to get their grasp on power. But, to attack Realist and call him a socialist is plain ridiculous. Anybody with any brains can see what he wrote is that their is a place in government for certain regulations when the private sector cannot regulate itself, and, the private sector will NEVER provide assistance for the least fortunate.

Having assistance for people who cannot provide for themselves by no fault of their own (handicapped/disabled, etc), should be able to rely on the government when they don\’t have family to help out. Able-bodied, lazy, people have no place wasting my tax dollars, nor do Un-wed mothers who keep having kids to collect more assitance. I believe the family is still the most important thing. Government shouldn\’t be regulating a lot of things that you would say they should be. You cannot have it both ways. You cannot tell the government to say that they can legialize discrimination against certain segments, but then say, they cannot regulate industries such as ours to keep it clean and legal. Their is room in our industry for both points of view, but, to attack somebody is just plain stupid, and I hope you think a little before you write next time.

    and,
    you have a nice day.

Of course the private sector wont help the least fortunate there is no money to be made in it, last time I checked we are a capitalist society. If you are so bothered by \”poverty\” why don\’t you start a charity using donations from willing parties… as far as I\’m concerned the only people in this country that deserve a hand are the people who have been disabled from birth or for something completely out of their control. I don\’t know how many times I must say this but people have no right taking money from me over the poor choices they have made in life. If you are logical you will be able to look at everyone and know that they are were they are because of the choices they made in life. Also I wasn\’t \”attacking\” him I was simply saying he believes in a form of gov\’t that doesn\’t work..Socialism, not only does it not work it is also morally wrong. Redistributing wealth is not the answer to society\’s problems, nanny governments create dependence which is obviously bad. They are providing us with bread and circuses(google it if you don\’t know what I\’m talking about). Do you think I honestly care if you voted for John McCain??? John McCain is about as conservative as Nancy Pelosi. I\’m over this I\’m not going to convert you guys because you use feelings to establish your opinions not logic. Maybe you should apply some of that LOGIC when you actually read the law, perhaps then you wouldn\’t defend such ridiculous act.

I\’m no socialist, but you cannot make the blanket statement that socialism does not work.

Our capitalistic society is at its weakest at the current moment, with no less than a full communisitic regime (China), holding more of the dollar value than any other country. They are building a city the size of cincinatti every 3-6 months. But I am not defending it, or saying thats what we need here.

But, take Great Britain for example, a what you would call \”socialist\” regime. Their infant mortality is lower per capita (better access to QUALITY healthcare), their are less DEPENDENT people (unemployment is lower than U.S., people actually work), for the most part have much higher work ethic and lead us in per capita spending on research for the betterment of humanity. Don\’t preach about how superior you think we are, you sound like a typical republican defending failing policies. Long Live the president of lies, and the vice president of torture. Had they both actually expierenced what military service was like, they would not be so stupid commanding and sending middle america\’s children to die in a desert hell, which, could have been accomplished with more isolation, and no loss of america\’s kids lives.

I am a liberal socialist who thinks that we should stop wsting money onthe milatry and just spend it on health care and other federal programs to help the poor. USA is not true capitalism anyway. If it was the FDA and other 3 letter organizations that protect us from the Evil selfish organizations wouldnt exist.
