Well its too bad Ford didn\’t utilize the wealth of safety knowledge they have in Volvo. I was interested in the Fusion, but having spend over a week in the hospital due to a side impact accident, I\’m never going to run that now unnecessary risk again. I want something with GOOD side impact ratings. The Fusion sure is a pretty car, but its hard to Ford to stay afloat when their products have to be changed so much after they\’re already on the market.

If us Americans could figure out how to make quality cars people actually want, they might compete with Toyota and the like. Until then, though, I\’m sticking to my Toyota. Sorry America, I\’m not going to rip myself off for the sake of the country. Build a quality product and I\’ll buy it.

I have a 2003 Honda CR-V and a 2003 Ford Focus. The build quality of the Honda is better, but it also cost me over twice what the Focus did. And neither car has ever given me any trouble. I suspect that the domestics are finally starting to close on the Asian makes in terms of quality. Safety is another issue which boggles my mind, seeing as Ford owns Volvo, one would think they\’d use that to boost safety in all their cars. I will say that the Asians can\’t seem to make very exciting cars in the same cost range as the domestic makes do. The Fusion looks a lot more interesting than the Camry, too bad it doesn\’t have the substance to back those looks up.

I think that if the FORD FUSION failed the front and side impact crash tests. You should stop selling them. Because you are all puting people lives in great danger by selling this car.
