Dave Evans has been named the new executive director of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America’s Trusted Choice, the association’s consumer marketing identity for nearly independent insurance agencies, brokerage firms, branch locations and insurance companies.
Evans has an extensive background in financial services and retirement planning. Prior to joining the IIABA, he worked for a major insurance company, a national employee benefits consulting firm and as co-founder of his own firm.
The new role will expand Evans’ communications and marketing responsibilities for the IIABA. Evans will continue to oversee the association’s communications department and serve as publisher of Independent Agent magazine.
Current Trusted Choice Executive Director Jeff Myers has decided to pursue other opportunities.
Evans is regularly quoted as an insurance expert in broadcast and print media outlets, including CNN, CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and the Washington Post. He is a frequent contributor to insurance trade magazines and authors a monthly column on financial services for IA magazine.
Launched in October 2001 by the IIABA and several agency companies, Trusted Choice educates consumers about the benefits of using independent agents and brokers for their insurance needs: choice of companies, customized policies and advocacy support.
