What would be the size of this wine market, those allergic people who prefer unsavory-looking (but save for them) wine?

As one with a number of food sensitivities, I feel that mfrs should provide this information. If they want to add an additional label explaining that the allegen was only used in processing, is only a trace amount remaining, etc. they should be allowed to do that.
As a non-meat eater, I wish companies were also required to label soups, frozen dinners, etc. that contain meat products.
It is suprising how many Cheese Lasagna or Vegetable Rice dishes contain chicken broth or beef fat, etc. Yes, I am the one in the grocery store, blocking the frozen food door while I try to read the ingredients (printed in smallest possible font) !

Bunch of industry whiners, like it\’s really going to cost them an arm and a leg to re-do their labels with a bunch of fine print that nobody ever reads unless they\’re allergic to something.

Vineyard = the place where the grapes are grown (a \”vine yard\”).

Vintner = One who makes or sells wine.

Many wine vineyards do not make wine, they sell to vintners, many of whom do not grow grapes.

It interests me that all the examples cited are of children having allergic reactions. While I understand that adults certainly have allergies as well, it is a poor example to use in an article about reactions caused by wine. What percentage of wine drinking adults have a problem with being allergic to wine?

What a bunch of whiners!. Can\’t we even make it thru the day anymore without having someone trying to protect a few at the expense of many? My god, how did we all survive 40 years ago before all of these labels and safety features? I remember running at recess, playing dodgeball, (sorry to the 4 eyed kid that I always nailed), riding bikes without helmets.etc. Guess what, I survived and never even broke a bone!. These days we have too many things to try and protect us and our kids can\’t be kids. Also, why are we pumping our kids full of antibiotics these days? It is only making them more suseptible to more diseases. Let the body work its wonders for minor issues. Little Jimmy doesn\’t have to go to the emergency room everytime he sneezes or his nose runs or he srapes his knee. my kids no better than to come crying for little things that happen to them and no, I do not make them wear helmets when riding a bike. I let them climb trees and rollerblade on pavement (oh no!).

Here\’s my solution to Ms Alvarez, don\’t let your 4-year-old son who is allergic to eggs, and your 7-year-old daughter who is allergic to peanuts drink wine.

Yet another piece of crap that is attempted to be justified by bringing up children. Last time I checked, 4 and 7 year olds were not supposed to be wine.

I agree with most views expressed here. This legislation is pure crap and completely useless. What a waste of time and money for nothing.

vintner is a wine merchant or a wine producer. In some cases the term is also applied to winemakers.

The FDA has not done a useful thing in years. I am only guessing that they have at some point been useful. This is over the top. Let the buyer beware. Make their allergy or choices their problem and not mine.

I figured out that I have allergies to alcohol, so I quit drinking. What ever happened to personal accountability? If you have an allergic reaction to the alcohol, don\’t drink it anymore or suffer the consequences. The government shouldn\’t have to be responsible for protecting us from our own stupid selves.

Oh, yes. I have a friend who breaks out in hives everytime she drinks, but she made the choice to drink anyway. Party On!

I can\’t believe that is an acutal adult running around on IJ and posting these posts. Sad and sickening and I hope you are really some child that is not at school today because you are sick. If you are an adult, you are sick in the head.

And one more thing, how immature do you have to be to make fun of someone for thier penis size?

Yes, I admit it, my penis is small, but so what? Im sick of being made fun of for it.
