Smart Choice University Formed; Quinn Named Director

The Smart Choice Agents Program, which currently serves more than 2,300 independent agencies across the country, has announced the formation of Smart Choice University and the selection of Mary Quinn as its first Director of Education.

Smart Choice University will provide training, education and development for Smart Choice agents. “We will capitalize on the many wonderful materials and programs already developed by the industry,” explains Smart Choice President and CEO Douglas S. Witcher. “In addition, we will provide some unique opportunities for our agents, including training and guidance on a variety of issues related to agency personnel, agency operations and agency perpetuation.”

The University will deliver programs in a variety of ways, according to Witcher, including classes at Smart Choice’s headquarters; sessions around the country at convenient locations for agents; and Web-based training.

Mary Quinn will serve as the director of dducation. Quinn holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from East Tennessee State University and an Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Appalachian State University. She brings experience from the education, private and business sectors to her new position.

“Mary brings a fresh and unique perspective to us, one that will help us create the best University of its type,” Witcher says. “She already has been actively talking with our agents to determine the types of support that are needed, and has begun developing programs and materials especially for the needs of Smart Choice agents.”

The Smart Choice Agents Program is a wholly-owned program of Worldwide Insurance Network, Inc., headquartered in High Point,, North Carolina.
