Go find a real job and make an honest living for a change and get off of the public dole for crying out loud. OMG what crap! Thank you I feel so much better now.

I appreciate every once in a while as an agent being reminded that there are risks out there that the public may think are covered, but as people in Northridge and Louisina found out the hard way there is no coverage under homeowners and commercial property policies. Flood and earthquake are not covered. I realize there are many customers who realize there is no coverage for the perils of flood and earthquake, but I think we as agents would be surprised at how many customers do not realize this, and if there is a loss they turn to the agent and expect covereage, either under their policies or the agents E & O. It is up to us as agents to properly inform our customers that there is no protection without an endorsement or separate policy. If the cutomer refuses the coverage that is their call. Earthquakes and Floods happen sometimes where we least expect them. Without the proper documentation it falls back on the agent. As I mentioned it is a good reminder that there are risks with earhquakes and floods that are uncovered with most of our customers. The question is have we informed them of the exclusions and the ability to buy the coverage, and do we have it documented in the customers file.

Yes, it is a horrendous waste to pay this guy and the thousands or hundreds of thousands of others like him who not only do not contribute to productivity but also detract from it. But who’s the bigger fool-this guy or the ones who line up like sheep every year in the religious ritual known as “filing your tax return?”
