Chartis Names Stratts President, CEO of Global Marine/Energy

Chartis Inc. appointed George Stratts as president and CEO of its Global Marine and Energy Division. Stratts was previously executive vice president of Lexington Insurance Co., a Chartis company, and senior executive for Lexington’s Property Division. In his new role, Stratts will oversee the global energy casualty, global energy property, oil rig and global marine product lines for Chartis. He will report to John Doyle, president and CEO of Chartis U.S., and Ralph Mucerino, chief operating officer of Chartis International and chairman of Chartis’ Global Marine and Energy Division. Stratts also will serve as senior property executive of Chartis U.S., reporting to David Fields, senior vice president and chief reinsurance officer of Chartis.

Stratts joined Lexington in 1999 and has held underwriting positions of increasing responsibility, becoming senior vice president of Property for Lexington in 2003. In 2006, he became an executive vice president overseeing Lexington’s Property Division. Previously, Stratts worked as an underwriter for the Chubb Corp.
