it is a sad commentary on the US Congress that in their haste for drastic social engineering (health care legislation, Congress drops the ball once again.

Yes its a mighty sad thing that Congress has agendas other than to vote on a simple issue. I was due to close escrow on my home this week but due to Congress’ inability to get their act together the deal on my home is dead in the water. Finally, after 3 years on the market someone was able to qualify for a loan to be to buy it, now they can’t insure it. This is very difficult to understand and quite heartbreaking. I suffered a heart atack in February due to stress and I truely wonder if our members of Congress will have a good stress free Easter meal while I sit here stressed out and wondering if they will see fit to vote on this issue any time soon because they saw fit to break for a Holiday rather than vote on this issue and have stalled all home sales that require National Flood Insurance……

HOW SAD IS IT THAT THE HOUSE AND CONGRESS ARE HOLDING IT’S CITIZENS HOSTAGE, BY NOT PASSING THE FLOOD EXTENSION PROGRAM- YOU INCOURAGE PEOPLE TO GO OUT AND BUY PROPERTY-THEN YOU HOLD UP CLOSING OF THIS PROPERTY WITH”NO EXTENSION ” ON THE FLOOD PROGRAM. FOR REAL DO YOUR JOB-OR COME NOVEMBER WE ARE GOING TO BE VOTING AGAINST OUR CURRENT HOUSE AND CONGRESS

I couldn’t agree more with Mary. I have a home closing being held up because we are awaiting the passage of the flood insurance extension program. The lack of passage will also affect the $8K refund which will expire if the loan is not closed by June 30th. These politicians must GO! I for one will be reviewing each record and voting against the ones that simply hold things up because of party affiliation. Votes should be on what’s right, not what party you belong too.
