Everyone knows that what responsibility is not given to the Federal Govenment is retained by the States. Overseeing insurance has always been the right and duty of the States. Forget the Commerce Clause, It is inherient that the law requiring someone to do anything that is not affecting others should be unconstitutional.

Harley, we know he’s not a communist. He’s actually a top-secret muslim terrorist, secretly jealous that Bush caused 9/11, so he’s hellbent on destroying the country from the inside, first with the economy, then by destroying morality and finally the ecosystem (which is why he decided to blow up the oil rig in the gulf). Everybody knows that!

Please, do not use the term “liberal” to describe these people. Liberals espouse liberty. The classic use of the term was to describe the philosophy of believing in individual liberty over the tyranny of monarchs and intrusive government.

Of course, those who support the recent healthcare legislation, and much of the democrat party in particular, believe the exact opposite. So please, let us be accurate and specific in our language. These people who espouse governmental control over our lives are simply leftists. Leftists are retrograde throwbacks to a time when serfs merely aceded to the whims of the government, concentrated into the hands of the very few, who ruled with iron fist.

Given the Constitution and Federalist Papers lay out the philosophical underpinnings of how and why our country was constructed (three co-equal branches, bi-cameral legislature, strong states rights, and limited and specifically listed scope of federal government, etc.), to be a leftist one either has to be completely bereft of philosophical understanding, or simply one consciously attempting to destroy the natural rights, laid out in those documents. Which is it?

You are so correct. It is a conscious attempt to destroy natural rights. We all need to do some research on all of these people in power and be prepared. Get involved, make your voice be heard. Don’t just let all of this happen.

Fred, please open your mind up to alternative views and actually do some research on the facts before you let them steamroll through our country. I find it interesting that 30-40 years ago, a liberal was usually the ‘hippie’ who didn’t want anyone telling them what to do (much less the government), wanted NO regulations & couldn’t care less about becoming part of the system. Now, the liberals want total government control, to regulate everything (did you ck out the health care reform fine print?)& are eager to become involved as long as it goes their way. No compromise, certainly no desire to listen to others & no discussion. How sad.

That’s the beauty of FREE SPEECH!! Oh–BTW–he may not be a communist, but he is a socialist…that, to me, is just as bad because our country is based on a Constitution of the People, not socialism.

Harley, you can read it for your self in Mr. Obama’s AUTObiography. I wish more of the “voters” would have look into their candidate, before casting their votes.

Fred I’m right there with ya. I have to say I do enjoy reading the posts of these folks. It seems as though they preferred the melding political and corporate interests (aka fascism) of the last eight years under Bush. You all also didn’t seem to care too much while Bush shredded the constitution to increase his presidential powers.

Crony capitalism mostly is the province of the DemonRats and will do more to reduce your freedom than you’ll ever be smart enough to figure out.

You’re a commie/socialist freak, but, yet, you work in the ultimate capitalist industry – insurance. (Or, at least, so you present yourself as an insurance agent.) In your ideal world, there’s no need for insurance, because the gov’t. will take care of you and everything that you need.

    Remember Thomas Jefferson’s words:

“A gov’t that has the power to give to you anything, also has the power to take from you everything.”

    You’re a fool.

THe law should have mandated that all insurance companies become non profit. It should have mandated higher finacial reserves and liquid assets of insurance companies, thus reducing the number of insurers. IT should remain that all insurers provide coverage to all but insurers and rate caps imposed.

    THis will work.

Yeah, it’ll work at making sure that everyone has substandard care; oops, that’s already taken care of with Obutt’s health care bill.

Do you know the old Q&A to describe communism, socialism, DemonRaticism? Well, Shitowee, I’d be surprised if you knew it (or your home address, for that matter), so here is it:

Q: What would you get if the DemonRats/Socialists/Commies had control of all of the deserts in the world?

    A: A shortage of sand.

Whether you are for or against National Healthcare, our representatives are supposed to be the voice of the people, by the people and for the people. 70% of the nation DID NOT want this imposed on them, yet they FORCED it down our throats. What happened to Democracy? As usual, these clowns know what’s best for the peasants. Can’t wait until November.

This IS NOT a Democracy. It is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC! Our elected officials are NOT in place to stick a finger in the air to feel which way the wind is blowing. You pompous blowhards should stop your idiotic name-calling, unfounded accusations, and conspiracy theories and PRESENT ALTERNATIVES rather than whine on and on. This economy simply cannot recover without some type of health care reform. The staus quo NO LONGER WORKS.
