Smart Choice Agency Market Program Expands to 6 More States

May 27, 2010

The North Carolina-based Smart Choice Agents Program, which says it currently provides personal and commercial lines markets for some 3,000 independent agencies in 32 states, is expanding into six additional states.

The program is moving into Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New York, Washington and West Virginia.

The Smart Choice Agents Program, founded in 1994, provides access to personal and commercial lines property and casualty markets for agents who cannot meet the production requirements of those companies.

“We negotiate low volume commitments for our agents, who are directly appointed with each of the carriers,” says Chief Executive Officer Douglas S. Witcher. “This levels the playing field for hometown agencies. It also allows agents to provide their customers with product choice, ensuring that they are getting the best product for their needs.”

Agents retain 100 percent ownership of their agencies and their customers. They do not pay start-up or monthly program fees, and can receive 100 percent commissions once they reach a fair, attainable commission cap.

The Smart Choice Agents Program is a wholly-owned program of Worldwide Insurance Network, Inc., headquartered in High Point, North Carolina. It currently operates in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
