Would you prefer they just go out of business and/or write blank checks?

Seriously, all I see government doing is pointing fingers with ZERO solutions.

Your message contributes nothing to this topic. No supporting arguments or substance of any kind.

Next time, please contribute to the discussion instead of name calling – it makes you seem uneducated and damages the credibility of the left wing.

    My response:

I agree that Transocean was wrong to try to limit its liability in the matter. Even if they are justified, this would do nothing but outrage the entire nation – bad business move in my opinion.

(I know a lot of left wingers would like to try to stick blame on the republicans for this (lack of regulation), but don’t forget, Salazar is a key player and had the ability to act before the spill)

What is there to defend? Your President has been on this since Day 1. First sent a bunch of lawyers, to put their boots on the throat of BP. That was very useful.

He goes to bed and wakes up thinking of nothing besides the spill.

Nothing, not even a brief Memorial Day Service honoring our fallen Soldiers stands in the way of him thinking about the spill.

The idiot in cheif needs a new writer for his telepromter. Seems he has a habit of waking up thinking about the problem of the day. He can’t even lie about his concern very effectively:

From Fox – So it doesn’t matter to Lib’s, but here it is: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,593644,00.html

The president said today his main focus is the oil spill: “My job right now is just to make sure that everybody in the Gulf understands, this is what I wake to in the morning and this is what I go to bed at night thinking about.”

Well, that is a pretty familiar line. Earlier this year the White House press secretary said President Obama: “Wakes up in the morning and he goes to bed at night thinking about how to make people’s lives better — how to create that environment for creating jobs…”

About national security, marking 9/11 last year, the president said: “My greatest responsibility is the security of the American people. It’s the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning. It’s the last thing I think about when I go to sleep at night.”

The president used a similar line about protecting Americans multiple times last year.

WHO CARES?!? If he is in charge, and he regularly assures us…FIX IT!

Isn’t legal liability based on statutes…along with contracts and torts?

It seems that Transocean was within its right to limit its claim.

It is amazing that Obama comes away totally unscathed in this whole incident. Could you imagine this if this were President McCain or President Bush? We would never hear the end of this….

Obama is totally out of touch with reality….he is the largest recipient of BP corporate money (that is skipped over by the media, takes almost a week to go and visit and then hands over control of this incident to rabid lawyers (another large donor)…..

It is time to realize that responsibility lies with the executive, and he must simply work with business to fix the situation…..

If I had a dollar for every time Obama pointed his finger and tried to act tough, I’d be a rich woman. I’m soooooo scared……………

It’s unfortunate that this spill of epidemic proportion was needed to place yet another nail in his sorry coffin. Keep talkin Bama Pie…….

Corporations availing themselves of legal defenses…………..SHAME ON YOU BAD BUSINESS!!!!!!

Obama didn’t cause the explosion or oil spill. It happened in deep water where BP apparently had no clue what to do in the event of a blow out.

Obama, nor any politician had anything to do with this disaster. Our Federal Gov is unprepared to address this type disaster as our Federal gov is not i the oli drilling business.

Private companies caused the accident, it is their (not the Gov) responsibilty to fix it.

hey corporate victim, did you take time out of your busy day flipping burgers to post that idiotic non-sense? Just another leftist w/ no facts, just a pointless emotional outburt that showcases your ignorance for all of us to see. We get enough of that from Obama so we don’t need it from you.

Ding….fries are done. Better get on that fry-o-lator before you burn something.

Oh yeah, I forgot, if it’s on FOX it’s got to be true. good thing we have Rupert’s sensational “news” outlets to do the thinking for us, huh? Wonder why the other news organizations aren’t so quick to blame? It’s called journalism, without the color yellow added (thought I’d help you out so you won’t have to bring that up too). Don’t worry, Americans will probably vote him in for another 4 years so you can feel the same squeeze that dubya had on us for 8 years.

I stayed out of this fray because of the politics but thought an OP-ED piece from that yellow rag Time Magazine might be illuminating. If you can follow the link, if not check out Time online. this is food for thought, as Mark Halperin points out, the same landscape was trod by Reagan, who to the consternation of the democrats, was quite popular, even if he was a repuglican (LOL!)

After reading that lib-spun piece of dribble, I couldn’t help but wonder how anyone can support this president or anything he does or says. Its amazing how easily fooled the left is and how they love to put their own spin on things to make The messiah look better and to make themselves feel better about supporting a trainwreck POTUS.

I want that 2 minutes of my life back please.

Back on topic, I think its pathetic how Transocean is trying to weasel out of their financial responsibility with regards to the spill.

It most certainly is the responsibility of the President to address what could be a significant ecological diasaster for every Gulf state. And, common sense tells you that the Commander in Chief should have established a working relationship with everyone involved in the problem solving. There will be plenty of tine for commissions panels and criminal probes……..that’s my point….this President knows nothing about working with private industry to solve any problem….but he sure can work with the labor unions that line his pockets. Obama has effectively cut himself off from what’s really going on in the way of progress because he comes out shaking his finger and suing and investigating.

And yes, I would much rather have George W. Bush overseeing this problem that Barack Hussein Obama of Chicago.

And, if BP goes legitimately out of business as a result of this accident, capitalism would have truly succeeded.

Boy oh boy, your reaction was expected and I got to you you; you surely did make my day! I can always tell when someone has a thinking deficit when they start the name-calling and labeling. It’s easier to just slam everything as leftist and “lib” when you don’t have anything to offer in a debate. All that aside, the fact is that our revolutionary fathers, and the great progressive movements through out our history as a nation were all “liberal” as opposed to those who sought to maintain the status quo; Tories called them traitors to the crown; southeners called them “Negro-lovers”. Or they called them warmongers, when they favored staying out of those European wars. So some want things as they are, some want to stir things up. Too bad they don’t teach civics anymore; it would go a long way to making politics more palatable, so that everyone can have their “SAY” at leasts, if not their “WAY” and everyone gets behind a new president after he is elected because at that point, when he takes the oath, he is “OUR” president. You had your vote, you have to live with how it went. All I want is less diatribe, less vituperation and more respect for another’s opinion. I will respect yours, if only you would respect mine. the issue was settled at the ballot box. PERIOD.

I don’t think you got a reaction from anyone here…because you really didn’t have anything to offer. The use of the word liberal sure is descriptive today of a certain mindset and thought about government intrusion in private lives and business – no matter what it meant 200 years ago. The editor of Time Magazine has previously proven he is not a journalist, and I wouldn’t find anything he had to say either interesting accurate or relevant. If an Obama fan is comparing Reagan’s presidency to Obama’s, all I can say is he’s looking pretty defensive of his man, and time will tell whether Obama is out of touch with the citizens. Mu guess is he will crash and burn, and go down in history not only as the first black president, but one of the least competent presidents in history.
