Goldman sucks needs to be shorted out of existence and all employees required to serve as bomb sniffing dogs looking for IED’s in Iraq/Afghanistan.
This “settlement” is a joke at best and just goes to show how inept our government really is.
They are the most unethical company ever to exist and they own the Obama administration. According to my math, they owe the american tax payer about a hundred billion dollars plus interest.
Joker
Agree on GS; settlement is a joke and can anyone tell me why almost half of it was given to foreign (I assume) entities? Let them generate their own lawsuit if they want proceeds.
While I agree that GS is esesentially scum of earth for their sly little double down, let’s not blame the administration here. After all, Paulson (who originally designed TARP) was appointed by Bush and designed TARP under Bush. Geithner is also a holdover.
I really don’t want to get political here, but I would instead say that the vampire squid has sucked the blood of both parties…and by inference, all of us of whatever political stripe.
As BP is being held to indemnify for the oil spill, is there no smart lawyer other than govt lawyers or disgruntled shareholder lawyers that can figure out a way to sue so the American taxpayer is indemnified? I, for one, would like to see some huge fines go into the unemployment insurance fund…or amybe a fund to subsidize those who lost their jobs and are in danger of losing their homes….something from Wall Street trickling down to Main Street other than a big bill…for a change.

Any ideas out there?
Exactly like demanding a bank robber pay a portion of their loot in fines…
