Marx states that the only way to solve these problems is for the working class (proletariat), who according to Marx are the main producers of wealth in society and are exploited by the Capitalist-class (bourgeoisie), to replace the bourgeoisie as the ruling class in order to establish a free society, without class or racial divisions.
Karl Marx never provided a detailed description as to how communism would function as an economic system, but it is understood that a communist economy would consist of common ownership of the means of production, culminating in the negation of the concept of private ownership of capital, which referred to the means of production in Marxian terminology.
With this new bill, and the Hell-thcare bill, we now have over 5,000 pages of new regulations that are loaded with unknowns and new agencies. I am sure this Financial Resp bill is larded down with goodies for Congressman, favored businesses, unions and the plaintiffs’ bar. This current group in Congress and the White House must go.
HGW, My team is the one who spends the least, and governs the least. W spent way too much on unfunded mandates, Besides, this team has spent more in 2 years than the crazy Pres and Congress spent in 8-now that’s an achievement.
P.S. In case you haven’t noticed, insurance is part of the financial community which will be plucked by this turkey of a bill.
Fair enough on the politics. I do agree with the less spending and less government aspect of their playbook; it’s the relying on religion to govern and just saying no to any legislation that sways my vote.
And I did notice that insurance was part of the Reform bill, it just wasn’t part of your post.
Now look what I’ve done – commented on politics and not insurance…guilty!
With a NEW government agnecy, FIO, being thrown upon us, I’m afraid its time to plan my exit strategy for this industry.
ANYTIME Big Brother gets into our lives, it is not good. The insurance industry is now in the sights of BB and with that, give it a few years and we will all be toast. Discuss insurance? We’d better start talking about our survival.
Anything Todd & Frank are involved with is bad news. Those two idiots had a lot to do with getting us in this mess and they are now writing new legislation??? Are you kidding???
Good ol’ Barney-no hampster is safe with him in DC
If they shined oned of those blue lights they use in hospitals to show “stains’ on the bed spreads, do you think Barney Frank would be visible from space?
HGS, there is a place for religion in politics since religion has a moral basis and we certainly need more than a bit of morality in DC. As far as the Repub objecting, you must stop the bleeding, stabilize the patient, and treat the wounds. Eventually, like drug ussers, you just have to say NO!. You must agree that if you are about to drive off a cliff, you want your passenger to yell STOP-well you just aren’t hearing the warning. I guess I just can’t abide by a do something, do anything line of thought, that is unless, I see some members of Congress in the middle of a mine field-they I would say, RUN OF IT!
In my humble opinion, we need more business people in office and less lawyers. We need people who truly understand the impacts of the laws being written. The FIO is just the first step to federal regulation. It is coming, even if the industry “dodged a bullet” in this round. My hope would be that this legislation spurs the NAIC to continue self-reformation at the state level. (A preemptive strike, if you will).
I had a legit comment to make here…I really did. Then I read all the hilarious Bwaney Fwank comments, nearly pissed myself laughing hysterically and completely loss my train of thought.
Well done w/ the Fwank comments. The Joker approves! Fannie and freddie and gerbils oh my!
DID THEY PUT A CLAUSE IN THERE TO STOP BARNEY FRANK FROM HAVIN SEX WITH HIS GUYS OVER AT FANNY MAE? BET NOT!

Godzilla…What??
Liberty…Do you actually have a comment or are you reciting Econ 101 and Poli Sci 101 teachings?
Tom…You had your team in for eight years, give the new team at least their four.
All…this is an insurance talkback section; do you have something insurance-related to say?

Really makes sense to have Dodd-Frank so highly involved in this reform bill when they were the root of the problem with Fannie May and Freddie Mac!

Just a thought….

I’m just asking….
Current NAPSLO President, 700 families, one orange jumpsuit – Priceless?
