With the surge of the new healthcare reform requirements for children with pre-existing conditions, the carriers are raising rates to a all new high OR they are pulling out of the child-only markets. Anthem BCBS notified agents last week they are pulling out of the child-only market. A local hospital carrier who offers individual coverage stated they are either offering coverage for children with pre-existing conditions a rate up of 90% to 500%. Hmmmmmmm, so much for affordable healthcare coverage.
