Chartis Expands Education, Training Options to Private Client Group

Chartis has expanded its Private Client Group University (“PCG-U”), a continuing education and training program designed for insurance and other financial services professionals who advise high net worth individuals and families.

The Private Client Group division of Chartis created PCG-U in 2007 to supplement the knowledge base of its agents/brokers and help new entrants to the insurance industry hone their sales skills. The new enhancements include:

Over 20 complimentary continuing education courses in total are available in the expanded program. Topics range from exploring liability trends to preserving wine collections. Courses are taught by Private Client Group personnel who undergo training and receive certification from state insurance departments.

“Insurance is a frequently overlooked component of one’s wealth management plans,” said Ron Laconi, President of the Private Client Group. “We have always been committed to helping our agents/brokers better understand the exposures their clients face. Opening the doors of our continuing education classes to a wider set of advisors allows us to share our expertise in a more impactful way.”

The sales training arm of PCG-U was also significantly augmented to assist a broader swath of independent insurance advisors. Two curriculum tracks are available: one for those who focus on new business, and another for those who service existing clients. Training consists of multi-day sessions with a six-month follow-up to reinforce key takeaways. In addition, Private Client Group staff can customize in-house training programs.
