Another example of how the American Taxpayer is getting messed over by Federal Employees. I bet they are double dipping getting retirement and Workers Compensation. No oversight, no transparency. This is what we get for having a dysfunctional monstrous government.

When you changed your format/look, did you purposefully remove the printer friendly version of each article? Is the printer friendly button still available?

@ Conservative. Yes – totally. But think of all the money we’d save if we got rid of that worthless agency called Homeland Security?

Wait, you mean the organization that is supposed to make me feel safe at night? How could we ever get rid of an over reaching entity like that?

Are you talking about Janet Incompetano? She likes getting patted down at the airport because she hasn’t been touched in 20 years.

To get back on subject, the cost of the program would be exceeded by the cost of the lawsuits.

People on the program who had early start dates were not under social security and had a partially self-funded retirement program where no contributions are made for time out on WC.

The employees out on WC should be able to retire on par with their peers and would petition for parity. That means step increases and the like.

Although the system is currently not functioning as it should, change the system for the future without impacting the people already on the system. It seems to me that if they are in their 80s, their numbers will diminish on their own, through attrition.

And as far as Homeland Security, I would agree that the department is redundant and unnecessary, as is the Department of Energy. And what in the world does the Surgeon General do? Cost savings! It’ll never fly!

Wayne, why would they be getting paid at all through workers comp? Since one only receives a paltry amount through Workers Comp policies (of course, since government “workers” are primarily bribed for their votes, this might be a bit different than your standard WC issue), it seems more logical these people would opt for retirement, then begin collecting even moreof our tax dollars than they are already. Retire these people and tell them to collect their retirement bennies.

Wayne, I think the Federal Government is mostly redundant and duplicative and extremely wasteful of our tax dollars. Lawmakers composed mainly of lawyers pass numerous laws each year to impose on the citizens and keep creating more departments and agencies to monitor and regulate us 24/7. This was one of the primary concerns of the Founding Fathers that government would get too big and controlling. These people need to meet every other year for only a few months and then go back home like we do in Texas. Texas just opened a new session by cutting spending and balancing the budget for the next 2 years. Congress and this administration could learn something from this.

Thank Goodness for Senator Susan! Lets hope others will scream for some sanity in Washington! The nation is drowning in debt while taxes are too high = this is only one example of why!!
