There is no build-up of Carbon Monoxide. The problem is Carbon Dioxide. There is a big difference between the two but both are toxic at certain levels.

Yeah, I only know of one person who did this without incident but HE did it without the ball as well so the air quality was not an issue. This is just an accident waiting to happen and state officials need to step in and stop this. I would think the U. S. Government agency that has the jurisdiction might want to intercede to stop the sale of this product too.

Anyone dumb enough to enclose themselves inside an airtight object, knowing that a human needs air to survive, is just not worth the effort to save from themselves.

I’ve taken one of these hamster ball rides – on land, not water, and giggled all the way down the controlled path. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was tons of fun!!! I’m a seasoned insurance professional too.

I agree as well, my 9yr old son was just in one of these things and he was more than “winded” after, what seemed like a very lengthy “ride”… Now if only we could have had THIS US Governmental Agency watching after Wall Street, The Big Banks and the Rating Bureau’s… the MORTGAGE MELTDOWN could have been averted!

    Till the next run up!

if you think about all those objects that are supposedly safe but in reality there are always apparent risks involved. think about those that parachute or bungee jump, if safely used, it could still kill you! gov’t needs to just stay out of this. all those that provide this as a ride, should ensure that there balls are safe. make sure that anyone using it truly reads the risks associated with riding in the balls.

let’s turn the tables, we always talk about foods that cause cancer and other things in life. why don’t we stop making these foods? we don’t! why? because we love foods and the great tastes. when it is my time to move onwards, the guy upstairs will let me know. let’s stop fretting what the gov’t says and enjoy life because we can only live once!

Well stated, Wudchuck. And to those who haven’t had the opportunity to turn themselves into a cat toy yet, don’t knock it ’til you try it. Happy Monday to all.

The most dangerous thing anyone can do is get behind a wheel. Everyone know someone (at time many people) who have been killed in an auto accident. Does anyone know anyone that has been killed on an amusement ride? And don’t even get me going about smoking.

Just be smart and understand your risks before doing anything….
