    >Weiss says the U.S. reneged on a promise to resentence him made in exchange for Austria’s agreeing to send him back to the U.S. He also says the judge who cut his sentence lacked the authority to do so.

And this turkey reneged on thousands of policyholder’s who entrusted their life’s saving with him…

Now if we can only get the Feds to start putting Wall Street and everyone else who had a hand in the colllapse of our economy in jail for this many years, would make a lot of people happy. This is just one guy that destroyed many families, wall street affected the entire world. Just my opinion!

This man should be Bernie Madoff’s cell mate for life. Don’t stop with the Wall Steet boys. Include Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Turbo Tax Tim, the head of the EPA and any other minion following the Campaigner in Chief.

Raider Fan is right on target. Yes, this clown deserves no mercy. However, what is the sense of the 800 year+ sentence?
A must rental is Movie DVD- “Inside Job.” This year’s Academy Award Documentary winner spends 2 hours of worthwhile time asking relevant questions regarding accountability for the Great recession of 2008.
Let’s take the excess years of Weiss’s sentence and use those years to punish the perpetrators of greed who seem to have walked away from any punishment for THEIR acts !

Prison is supposed to be centered around rehabilitation of the malefactor and NOT purely punishment. The length of his incarceration is just plain ridiculous and on its own merit enough to warrant appeal after appeal, citing judicial prejudice.

It costs in excess of $65,000 per year to lock someone up. With the national debt in a crisis mode, dedicating $54,275,000 in today’s dollars to keeping this convict behind bars seems a lot of money.

As a measure towards reducing the drain on the economy, and to recapture significant funds which could be better spent elsewhere or to avoid any shortfall in other areas of governmental budgeting, I propose that we cut his time in half, thereby realizing a net savings of more than $30,000,000 in needless costs over the term of his sentence.

    Sincerely, John Boehner

Isn’t 417 years still a life sentence? I do agree that it is a lot of money to spend on rotten guy like him. Put him on a chain gang and gain some of it back.

      John,
Obviously he will not be in jail for 800 years, maybe 30 or 40. Even so, I agree with the cost to incarcerate him, it seems there should be another solution. Is he from the US or from another country. If he is not US born, then reject his citizenship and send back to where he came.

If prison was about rehabilitation, then it wouldn’t be a place of torture and rape, which it is. Our prison system is not even remotely about rehabilitation. Its punishment.

Plus anyone who says murders only get a few years sentence need to remember that this piece of trash destroyed THOUSANDS of lives.

Murderers get 20 years and this guy gets 835 years? Where’s the equity in that?
Bernie Madoff should get a 300 pound felon as his roommate, as should this guy and Rothstein from Florida. These imbeciles took the retirement lives of thousands of people away, not to mention inheritance money from the next generation. I hope they all rot in jail and I don’t mind contributing some tax dollars towards their rotting.
