Wells Publishing’s Tinney to Speak on Media Transformation

Julie Tinney, vice president of sales and marketing, Wells Publishing Inc., and self-proclaimed “gadget geek,” will be speaking on the new media and future of publishing during a webinar sponsored by Audience Development magazine.

The webinar, “Digital Editions, Apps and the New Audience Development Mix,” is scheduled for Wednesday, May 25.

Wells Publishing is the parent company of the property/casualty insurance industry print and digital publications Insurance Journal, Claims Journal and MyNewMarkets, and the Academy of Insurance, which provides education and training for insurance professionals.

The business-to-business publishing company has pioneered in offering its content through new media, including Android and iPhone apps and tablet editions.

“Our company continues to be committed to emerging platforms in publishing and new media, so that we can serve our audiences in whatever venue or medium they desire,” says Tinney. “For example, we were the first trade publisher to launch an iPhone app in the insurance industry. To date, over 14,000 of our mobile apps have been downloaded and the numbers grow steadily every week.”

According to Audience Development magazine, “The rise of mobile apps for smartphones and tablets is generating an excitement in the world of magazine publishing that hasn’t been seen in years.”

The May 25th webinar reviews the transformation in publishing and new media, as well as the broad new opportunities that have emerged.

As vice president of sales and marketing for Wells Publishing, Tinney is responsible for leading the company’s sales efforts as well as promotional and branding strategies. Joining Tinney as co-presenter will be Robert Cohn, consumer marketing director, Bonnier Corp.
