The Hartford Launches Auto, Home Program For Sierra Club Members
The Hartford will now provide the Sierra Club’s 1.4 million members and supporters with access to its auto and home insurance through a program that will offer discounted rates in most states.
The Hartford’s Going Green Initiatives
In addition to the new partnership with the Sierra Club, The Hartford has been focused on other green initiatives:
- The company has been insuring renewable energy risks, including solar, wind and geothermal, for more than 20 years.
- With an estimated 27,000 electric cars expected to hit the roads in 2011, The Hartford announced in April that it is installing electric vehicle charging stations at its Hartford, Simsbury and Windsor, Conn., campuses.
- The Hartford also recently announced that it is enhancing its homeowners insurance products with several new green features, including coverage for home-based electric vehicle charging stations.
