    In these days of economic uncertainty, coupled with a prolonged and protracted soft market and carrier over-capacity, we will see more agency owners questionning the longterm value and viability of agency ownership.

    Unfortunately, with the acquirers mentioned in this article, though they are probably best equipped to pay a premium price with cash in hand, the relationship aspect that differentiates smaller agencies from the banks and alphabet houses is lost. Might as well go direct and deal with a rotation of 9 to 5 nameless clerks because that is where the agency business is headed.
