Travelers Posts Q2 Loss with $1 Billion in Tornado Costs

    This is no surprise on the report. There is not a company writing business in the south that did not get hurt in these storms. I am not sure I believe their statement that pricing has improved on all its business lines unless they mean they have taken rate which they most certainly have done since I am a Travelers agent for Personal & Commercial and have seen it first hand even on loss free accounts.

    Yet,despite the numbers, Travelers continues to undercut other markets in many areas . They just undercut our existing market
    by 65% on our renewal and saved us several hundred thousand dollars .Mixed emotions !

      Guy, I am willing to bet it wasn’t Travelers Small Business that undercut by 65%. On specialty lines they like, they get with it like the Financial Institutions business or Municipalities/County business. Meanwhile, they try to take rate on small business and succeed in running business off in many cases.

    Let them keep doing the dumb pricing and let them enjoy the claims they get
