Maybe now the spending politicians will realize that there are ramifications for run away rampant spending. You can not just print or borrow your way out of a recession. There are certain universal monetary rules that you just can not ignore.

It is sad that the US Treasury note has been deminished to the point that it has now due to our out of control debt. The first sign was back in the Nixon administration when we removed our currency from the gold standard. It really would be interesting to know where would we be now if we had not removed ourselves off of the gold standard. First Gold would be $5,000. an ounce and there would have been very little expansion of entitlements over the years.

It is sad but in a way our nation will be better for the debt ceiling arugument going on right now. Hopefully they will not be successful in kicking the can for another year. It really is time for our politicians to be patriots and all americans to pay their fair share of taxes and I am not talking about the top 5% that pays 70% of the total. I am talking about the lower 51% which pays nothing in federal income taxes. We really need to get real about this situation. I pray that we do at some point or it will not just be our debt rating but our entire way of life.

Yeah, those 51% who pay no federal taxes are the same ones who we could be employing if it weren’t for those pesky minimum wage laws, as noted by M. Bachmann. The whole laughable thing about all this is those who point the finger of blame at spending, have no problem with the top 2% paying a lower percentage of their incomes toward taxes than the rest of us, because we don’t have lawyer/lobbies to write special legislation to remove tax burdens from those corporations who deign to “give” us the little livelihoods we have. I am all for reducing spending, I just want to see the tax burden SHARED by all….I recall some wag saying that only “people” pay taxes…meaning corporations and their owners do not. Some tea party…the only folks they are hurting are those who they think they are protecting and the only folks they are helping are those damn millionaires who create the little jobs we have…reminds me of Mr. Zorg, who keeps life and our lives going by letting us “live”….I’d gladly give back the $300 tax rebate I got from Obama and Dubya, and go back to the old tax levels from pre 2000. at $300, it made little difference in my lifestyle but I’d bet someone making 10 times what I do, probably could afford a new Mercedes (I am not kidding you, I know 6 people who did just that….)
