sounds like they want to obtain a lot more info other than driving habits, i.e. environmental impact & carbon footprint ?? What does that have to insurance rates?

Agree. I thought Progressive had patented their “Snapshot” concept.

I don’t have an issue if this remains voluntary. Due to the fact that auto insurance is all but required in every state, I do have a problem with it on a mandatory basis as an invasion of privacy. As soon as a carrier can show that it is effective in “keeping speeds down”, tracking people going into high crime areas (presumably to buy drugs), then law enforcement will be all over it. Thats when it becomes a problem. For years there has been talk of using EZPASS and similar systems as a method of writing speeding tickets. As long as a cash option remains, they will not persue this. If they close all cash lanes and soley use EZPASS, you can bet that they will start to use it as a speed trap.

Technology has a way of chipping away at personal freedoms.

This sounds like a fantastic product offering from Travelers. I would be most interested in this for myself. From my experiences, Travelers is a top-notch company, in the upper echelon of American corporations. This is yet another innovative product offering from them!

I had my mechanic install Intellidrive on my Buick Park Avenue April 8. Am I enrolled in the program, or is there something I should do from my computer?

I have the intellidrive device on my car and was told I had to register, according to the letter I received. I was to go to http://www.travelers.com/go/intellidrive but there is no where on your online menu where one can register. What is this about?? You people shouldn’t tell people to register when there is no where to register online.
