I bet you he was just fried from all the work he needed to get done before the holiday so he made the slip. It is easy to get tripped up to meet a deadlines this time of year. I hope he does not get burned for the error.
Let’s see. We have Janet Incompetano issuing a warning on frying turkeys since it is apparently a Homeland Security issue. Then, State Farm running an ad with Shatner on the same thing and now this article. What is the national emergency? People have been doing this for years, but now they need to be extra careful. Maybe it is because of the Islamic butchering and blessed Turkeys at Butterball that have them concerned.
Tried the deep-fryer just once about 15 years ago. The grass still won’t grow in that spot. Over cooked the bird by 5 minutes and had turkey jerkey. Never again.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Tomorrow is the record day for fires – today is the record day for drinking. Maybe we have another answer for the fires. Today tops both St. Patrick’s Day (my national holiday) and New Year’s Eve for drinking.
Happy Thanksgiving to All, and OPOV – I love and concur with your posts.
I laughed when I read in the article the following sentence:
“Esposito offered safety tips for those planning to sue a fryer:”
Is that a Freudiean slip?
What a turkey!

Or, one could play it safe and just use a conventional oven.
OPOV – I know we’ve had our differences, but have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
You too :)
If the turkey is in the oven, how are you supposed to bake the cream of bean casserole?
In the toaster oven! Those things are very handy!
I hope the fryer manufacturer has an in rem endorsement in case some one sues the fryer.
