I’m already seeing the commercials – saw one a couple days ago… “name your price from your phone”. They definately know how to appeal to the younger generation.
Apps for everything is out of control. I agree it appeals to the younger crowd but what about security issues? To me it makes as much sense as carriers having twitter accounts.
Nautilus insurance has a mobile phone rater for their brokers. I don’t really have a lot of use for it because when i’m ‘mobile’ i’m usually in an agent’s office with a computer. It’s a clever tool though.
The progressive mobile quote app is more useful though i think, and they are certainly the leaders in direct marketing. They know the easier they make it to buy their insurance the more likely they are to get young people and tech lovers to take it…and at a higher price than they would get if they shopped.
