Tires simply do not “just come off”. Assuming the stud was not so deteriorated that it snapped this usually happens because the shop did not use a torque wrench to set the proper lug torque. I guarantee you that if your loss control/UW insists that they have a policy in place for this and enforce it (particularly if they have someone double-check the vehicle) your “tires falling off” claims will be greatly reduced, perhaps to almost zero.
