March 7, 2012

K&B Underwriters has launched a new workers’ compensation product in collaboration with SeaBright Insurance Co. The carrier will bring a claims handling and loss control program to K&B’s senior living risk management product under the DigniCARE Risk Solutions brand.

“Our new alliance with SeaBright broadens our strong array of senior living risk management products and services,” said Bryan Baird, president of K&B Underwriters. “With our singular focus on senior living, our 50-plus years of underwriting experience, and our significant program size, we are focused on helping clients optimize their risk management solutions on an enterprise basis.”

DigniCARE’s Workers’ Comp program offers a range of services for policyholders. The claims management side features a national PPO network, an individual claims adjuster assigned to each account, a leading edge return-to-work program, and SeaBright’s BrightCure PDQ claim model which includes an on-staff physician for doctor-to-doctor consultation.

SeaBright’s loss control resources include an online library of safety videos and other safety materials, a real-time loss information tracking system and a loss control service center for safety advice and other assistance.

“We are very excited to be joining forces with K&B’s senior living experts,” said Tim Wood, SeaBright’s senior vice president of sales. “This new program with K&B is a natural extension of our nationwide specialty Workers’ Compensation coverage for healthcare facilities, now with a greater focus on the senior living segment.”

SeaBright and its predecessors have provided specialty workers’ compensation coverage for more than 25 years and is rated “A-” by A.M. Best. Its headquarters is located in Seattle.

K&B Underwriters is a Reston, Va.-based insurance program administrator that provides coverage to the senior living industry.
