Dreamliner Could Affect Future of Airline Safety Self-Regulation

    I suspect that at a minimum the FAA will require:

    1. The battery to be re-certified according to RTCA DO-311
    2. The fire detection and suppression equipment (which also failed) to be re-certified
    3. Additional requirements based on the results of the investigation.

    They may even go further and just ban the technology in its entirety.
