    This guy is a know-nothing.

Hartford wants to be a player but does not have the talent or the skills to compete on construction.

No reason to use them when there are so many carriers who write this class!

I understand your point, but what this article says is that they understand their weakness and are going to address it.

Unless you are Willis or Wells Fargo, Hartford wants nothing to do with you. They are lacking in skills and experience in construction and all they will do is drive pricing down. Typical standard market crap

What frustrates me so much about commercial lines is that when they talk about “profitability and growth”, they never mean the mom and pops, small operation contractors and artisans. The guy who is out there trying to make a living to feed his family is left with ‘left overs’ when it comes to getting adequate coverages. There is a dichotomy between small and medium to big size construction. The small guys live in a constant hard market (at least in my state in the North East).

This guy hey have in charge is typical AIG. If he was good, they would not have let him go.
The deal here is this is just for vey large contractors who do commercial work that have no CD exposure. They only want to deal with Marsh, Willis, Wells Fargo. The smaller agents who helped build the Hartford will get screwed.

This guy dos not know construction, nor do the people who work for them. They are suit guys not too far from college. I know what they are about….we have enough carriers to write this kind of business who won’t screw the medium to small agent
