Fewer workers mean worse or inattentive care. In our area, if there is not a relative doing a lot of care for the patient, it doesn’t get done. Sometimes, basic hygiene is not practiced with sponge baths and infections result. If that doesn’t kill the patient, it results in longer stays before the patient is released.
