“[Peterson] says the market partially stabilized because the shuttered dairies meant less supply, but they don’t want to see that happen again.”
Would somebody please tell the self-appointed Milk Czars that this is the way capitalism is supposed to work? Going out of business is how the market rids itself of inefficient producers. Their resources are taken over by entrepreneurs with better management skills, and everyone benefits. No bottles are snatched from the mouths of hungry babies; the system simply continues its relentless self-cleansing and marches on, stronger and more stable than before.
Surprise, surprise: Control freaks like Peterson and Boehner “don’t want to see that happen again.” Yes, if people see that markets will regulate themselves just fine without the “help” of loudmouth politicians, more of us might catch on to the fact that we don’t need them.
