It’s only fair if they are going to postpone the employer mandate that they postpone the individual mandate, as well.

Patti Cake, With new revelations coming out each week about this disaster in the making, I am not sure the bill will have to be repealed. The Progressives are having a terrible time with the exchanges not being ready, putting off the mandates, cost overruns trying to figure out how to provide free healthcare to 20-30 million people, having carriers refuse to participate in the exchanges etc. One of the biggest lies was our fearless leader saying it wouldn’t add one dime to the deficit. Oops! It is already projected to cost more than double the original estimate and that may be on the light side.

I think we have wide agreement with you on this Libby. I saw a related article this morning and the writer accidentally put in the delay year as 2105 instead of 2015. As far as we are concerned, they could delay it until 2105 and future generations can worry about it because we will be long gone.

      Libby,
I agree with your statement. That is a great point! However this administration is not interested in being fair. They are interested in saving votes during the next election.

The proof is there. The simple fact that they did not mention individual mandate, but did delay until after elections.

If this is such a good bill, why delay anything? Or if it’s a bad bill (as the majority of Americans believe) scrap the whole thing and start fresh. BTW, since when does a President without approval of congress get the opportunity to change a bill? Is this constituitonal? We have a President and Attorney General here who appear to hold the Constition in low regard.

Uh, most Americans are not against the bill. We re-elected President Obama. Mitt ran on repealing the bill. If Americans didn’t like it, we’d have Romney for a President right now. Instead, he got rolled in the election.

If you look at polling, most Americans are in support of the benefits of the bill. It’s the mandate that most people reject. And, we can thank the Heritage Foundation for that piece. Heck, most of the bill is from them. You might have been for it back when Dole was promoting it in response to Hillarycare.

By the way, President Obama is an expert on Constitutional Law. His Harvard degree evidences that fact.

The election had more to do with the illusion you guys made about if republicans get in office we will have another great recession than it did the healthcare bill.

The nation has consistently been more against it than for it.

Mitt Romney didn’t lose over healthcare. He lost because idiots on the left focused on his money and relating him to Bush W. That it, that’s all. Similar to how they won the elections after Hoover.

            Bob,
What about the illusion the Republicans made if Obama were to get elected in 2008. Where is the increased unemployment, stock market crash, $6 per gallon gsasoline, Socialism (by is true definition), Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, etc.?
As long as the Republican leadership believes this, they will keep on losing. Romney did not lose because he has money, he lost because he was not consistent in his message. When he was running for office in MA he had liberal views. Then he said he was a severly conservative governor during the primaries. I would venture to guess that many if not most Republicans that did vote for him were only voting against Obama.
If you do not have a candidate that people, especially Independents like myself, want to vote for, expect to lose. That goes for both sides.
Republicans need to realize that they cannot win with a far-right Conservative candidate. They need someone more toward the middle like Jon Huntsman. As long as they keep parading the Gingriches, Perrys, Santorums and Bachmans of the world they will not win.

Bob, Hoover wasn’t doing things to cause the Great Depression. It was the Progressives starting with Teddy Roosevelt and right through Woodrow Wilson who instigated all the wild spending/speculation that caused much of the problem. Hoover was the unlucky guy who happened to be in the White House at the time of the crash and got blamed for it. Then, FDR made problems worse with his Progressive program. He prolonged the Depression by 10 years and only WW11 got him out of it. The current administration thinks they can spend themselves out of trouble as well. They say that people who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Truer words have not been spoken.

Question, why wasn’t President Hoover able to lead the country to a recovery (the economy actually got worse during his administration), but you blame President Obama for a slow recovery?

I am in no way, shape or form blaming President Hoover for the Great Depression, but it did officially begin during his administration and ended during FDR’s. The Great Recession officially began during President Bush’s and ended during President Obama’s. If you have facts to dispute those facts, please provide and cite your source.

Again, I am not placing blame or giving credit. Only stating facts.

Ron, here is a test of your reading skills. If you were a student of history, you would realize that the Great Depression was primarily in the FDR years from 1933-1941. Eight long years of Progressive policy. Everything FDR tried prolonged it with the Progressive agenda. Make work jobs digging ditches sure didn’t do it. The attack on Pearl Harbor did do it since so many unemployed men signed up for the service to fight the war. Had that not happened, the country would have languished on for several more years since the plan was wrong. Putting people to work in the private sector is the only way to recover the economy. The women signed up to work in the war industries while the men were off fighting to keep this country free. There is your history lesson for the day. Take it in the spirit given.

How does having a Harvard degree provide evidence of Obama being an expert on Constitutional Law? He may have graduated from Harvard, but what were his grades? Since none of his grades have EVER been released, for all we know his GPA was in the C- range and he may have gotten a D, or worse, in constitutional law. Don’t bother pointing out he was a teacher of Constitutional law in Chicago; I believe he was really just a guest lecturer, not a real teacher. I have never heard any of his “students” from his time there step up and tell us what a great teacher he was. His general misunderstanding of the Constitution was on display today when he gave a statement about using Google and technology to improve government operations. He call the US a democracy; which it clearly is not. The US is a Constitutional REPUBLIC, which is drastically different from a democracy. In a republic minorities have rights, in a democracy it is essentially mob rule.

You are right getting older. I get agitated when politicians or others refer to this country being a democracy. It was set up by wise founding fathers as a Constitutional Republic. The Progressives apparently never said the Pledge of Allegiance or they would remember the ending “and to the Republic for which it stands”. The Democrats by their very name want a Democracy or mob rule as you put it and Republicans by their name want a Republic, three branches of government which serves for checks and balances to keep government in check. Unfortunately, none of the branches of government are doing their job in today’s world. The Executive Branch has been running roughshod over the other two who are basically impotent.

They fell for a smooth talker with a slogan who was devoid of any accomplishments or experience governing and had a shady background. The only time voters have voted intelligently in recent years were the mid terms of 2010 and that was largely the response of having this bill jammed down their throat in the middle of the night without reading it. This bill is imploding by the day and by the time of the mid terms next year, it will not be a pretty site for liberal Democrats who voted for it.

He told us that we should get a tune up and air up our tires and that was his energy plan in 08. He also gave several billion to his buddy Soros for drilling offshore in Brazil and told them we would be their best customer. As you’ll recall Karl Rove put an initiative to ban gay marriage to bring out the vote for the Christian Right — who otherwise would not have bothed to turn out for voting. Celitica, how is anyone to take you seriously when you try and fail to make it appear that someone didn’t care about the people of Benghazi, solely because they said that Benghazi was a serious issue that deserves to be hung around the neck of the person who tried the cover up and affected the lives of those involved in the Benghazi incident?

When someone is involved in a slip up of such an incident, it is important that they are held accountable.

As law, I would rather see this be implemented effectively and implementation pushed back rather than done in a shoddy way that will cause additional confusion.

Walker has proven himself in Wisconsin and they have a balanced budget now and he seems to be a good manager as Governors go. I am sure the unions will keep nipping at his heels at every turn, but they lost so they need to shut up and let a real governor govern. Rand may be a little too much Libertarian to suit me and his old man Ron was twice as bad and needed to retire.

Where do you people get your “mis”information? The NHS in England is very well run and the citizens love it. Waiting times are low, with most people able to see their primary care doctor on the same day or the following day and only 36.1% of hospital admissions are from a waiting list, with the remainder being either emergencies admitted immediately or else pre-booked admissions. No patient should experience a delay of more than 18 weeks from initial hospital referral to final treatment. This includes the time for all investigative tests and consultations, and two thirds of patients are currently treated in under 12 weeks.

This was posted by an American-Canadian regarding their health care system compared to ours: “Ten percent of Canada’s GDP is spent on health care for 100 percent of the population. The U.S. spends 17 percent of its GDP but 15 percent of its population has no coverage whatsoever and millions of others have inadequate coverage. In essence, the U.S. system is considerably more expensive than Canada’s. Part of the reason for this is uninsured and underinsured people in the U.S. still get sick and eventually seek care. People who cannot afford care wait until advanced stages of an illness to see a doctor and then do so through emergency rooms, which cost considerably more than primary care services.”

It works and it has worked for over 65 years in the U.K and 25+ years in Canada. It’s time the U.S. got on board.

Libby, have you ever talked to a Brit about how wonderful their Healthcare system is? I have and have not heard one good comment about it. Britain takes their “Death Panels” seriously over there. They just put their seniors on the “Pathway to Death” rather than give them treatment. Tell me, if it is so good, how come 200,000 health workers had to be laid off in the past two years? If Canada was so good, why do their patients come to the US for operations and treatment? They are saving money by not treating anyone for serious illnesses. If you call that Healthcare, so be it, but it is not a good system to say the least.

Rubbish, Agent. We’ve been all through this before, but I see you continue to preach your right-wing propaganda still. The correct title is Liverpool Care Pathway and it is similar to hospice care for a terminally ill patient. Do you know what it means to be terminally ill? It means you will never get better and will eventually die of your illness. It’s only humane to treat these people with dignity and try to make their last days as comfortable as possible. And I’ve met and spoken to plenty of Brits who have no complaints at all about their health care. And Canadians, too. If Canadians are coming over here for health care, it’s because it’s elective or cosmetic surgery not covered by health insurance.

If you add very and somewhat satisified, Americans are at 48%, Great Britain are at 41% and Canada is at 51%.

This country has been going downhill at a rapid pace during this time and your President has no answers but to raise our taxes, ram his Healthcare down our throats, weaken our defenses, give our tax dollars to people that hate us and employ serial liars in every department of the Federal Bureaucracy. It appears that he is willing to accept that there are flaws to the implementation deadlines in the law and has adjusted accordingly. That is something I admire about him. If the Republicans in the House were smart, they would have pursued a more gradual approach to change certain aspects of the law instead of only passing bills to completely repeal the law. In the curent political environment, that has zero chance of passing the Senate and getting the President’s signature. Do you honestly believe that those 37 bills made good use of your tax dollars?

Liberal organizations are compelled to sponsor ‘free clinics’ so that the unemployed and underemployed can have preventative checkups. You named a number of despicable Democrats Sargeant, but there are many more. Many are pushing Hilary in 2016 and she is every bit as bad. She learned her lying skills from Bill since he was one of the best. We need principled leaders who speak the truth. Walker had my admiration for how he handled Wisconsin and the union thugs up there. Cruz is new to the Senate, but he is principled as well. The old heads in the Republican Party don’t care for him because he is not part of the go along to get along crowd.

Sargeant, I can see how the Democrats you listed above try to avoid paying taxes. I could add that John Kerry couldn’t bring himself to even pay his yacht tax in Mass so he moved it to Rhode Island. Following is a list of taxes imposed from the Fed down to local. See if you agree that we are Taxed Enough Already.
Inheritance Tax,Accounts Receivable Tax, Building Permit Tax, CDL License Tax, Cigarette Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Dog License Tax, Excise Taxes, Federal Income Tax, Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA), Fishing License Tax, Food License Tax, Fuel Permit Tax, Gasoline Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, Hunting License Tax, Inventory Tax, IRS Interest Charges/penalties, Liquor Tax, Luxury Taxes, Marriage License Tax, Medicare Tax, Personal Property Tax, Property Taxes, Real Estate Tax, Service Charge Tax, Social Security Tax, Road Usage Tax, Recreational Vehicle Tax, Sales Tax, School Tax, State Income Tax (Not in some states), State Unemployment Tax (SUTA),Telephone Federal Excise Tax, Telephone Federal, State & Local Surcharge Taxes, Utility Taxes, Vehicle License Registration Tax, Vehicle Sales Tax, Watercraft Registration Tax, Well permit tax,Workers Compensation Tax. I use this list to illustrate how America is being taxed to death and we can thank our politicians for this since they apparently think there is no tax they don’t like and then take the money and waste it.

Yes JW there are voters that stupid. The city of Detroit is full of them as is Cleveland, Philadelphia, Chicago, LA etc

Check this out. Here is a Detroit City Councilwoman who thinks the federal government out to “Bail us out” just give the city more money for the city council to steal

jw, BTW the most recent Mayor of Detroit (Kwame Kilpatrick (D)) is in prison for federal corruption and racketeering, Monica (D)(wife of John Conyers (D) Detroit, is n prison for taking bribes on City projects, most recently, Charles Pugh (D) City Council President was charged with inappropriate behavior with a minor, a male minor. He has fled the city and has not been seen in the last month.

additionally, The Governor appointed an emergency financial manager because the city has wasted and stole billions in state and federal money and the city is broke.

The last Republican mayor was Louis Miriani. He left office January 2nd 1962

Sargeant, the fair city of Detroit sounds very similar to Chicago with all the corruption that is rampant with city officials. I felt sorry for Dave Bing, who was a good man in an impossible situation. The old saying that Absolute Power corrupts absolutely fits these people perfectly. Is it any wonder that Detroit has lost approximately half its population in the past 20 years? When a city loses its tax base due to population flight, they are not for long.

Sargeant, I saw an article today that it is so bad in Detroit proper that volunteers are mowing the city parks and a private bus company is doing transportation because they are almost completely broke. I thought the state took over their finances. Is that right? At least the Tigers are doing well. Boy, do they have pitching as the Rangers found out.

Sargeant, I saw an article that Conyers office manager was arrested for carrying a gun into a Federal Building. Of course, she got a slap on the wrist. It apparently helps to have friends in high places. I wonder why these anti gun people feel the need to carry a gun around on their person. Don’t they feel safe in a gun free zone?

Yes, agent I forgot many more. Like Anthony Weiner AKA “The PETER TWEETER”. Democrat from 9th district of New York who took pictures of himself naked and “tweeted” it to a women on his public twitter account.

As far as Hillary, she should be facing charges and prison time including federal obstruction of justice charges over Benghazi, the cover up of her staff hiring prostitutes on trips etc.

So Elliott Spitzer (D) former disgraced New York Governor AKA the “Hooker Booker” is running for the office of New York City Controller. In the meantime Anthony Weiner(D)AKA “The Peter Tweeter”, former disgraced 9th district congressman is running for New York City Mayor.

Just think New York City could be run by the “The Hooker Booker” and the “Peter Tweeter”. What a combo

I must admit I watched Jay Leno last night so I borrowed the last paragraph from him- Ha

By the time 2015 comes around, we will have approximately 10 more scandals of incompetence and abuse of power and this bill will have little to no support. Obamacare will be dead or we will have a single payer system within two years. It all depends on the next election.

Sarah, I wonder how many impeachable offenses it will take before someone with guts to draw up the Articles. It is a shame we have no courageous people in the House to bring it forward. Sam Ervin had no problem doing it against tricky Dicky. I think it might have been Dennis Hastert or Newt that did it with Clinton. That wouldn’t have happened had the blue dress not shown up. I was very surprised they didn’t find Monica floating face down in the Potomac given all the other deaths of that Administration under mysterious circumstances.

        Agent,

        You still have not addressed my questions as to why Articles of Impeachment have not been brought against President Obama yet. In particular;
        1. Isn’t stopping the destruction of the country worth the risk of being called a racist?
        2. Are the Republicans more worried about there own image than the future of the country?

Upon what SPECIFICALLY would you base the Articles of Impeachment? Please cite the source(s) of your evidence.
